Pastor gives one piece of information: the fabric should cover at least 20 cm more on each side of the window or hole.As for the extra fabric, it also depends on other factors and depends on the type of clothing that has been chosen."If it is an American clamp, it carries more extra amount of fabric than if it is a flat head or a perfect wave. If the fabric is a Jacquard, the pattern is something to take into account when calculating the meters," he explains."There are also fashions and trends on this particular issue. The classic curtain tends to be made with a drag, although there are no cases for everything or for everyone," says Rabadán's creative director.For this reason, this decision is made depending on the aesthetics of the place and based on technical conditions such as the type of fabric, the chosen clothing, whether the drive is manual or motorized, and the character of the fabric."Linen or wool better accept a marked drag, for example than polyester," he makes clear.In this Pastor is also clear: "To achieve the perfect fall it is necessary to have a lot of work behind, since no two cases are the same."This will depend on whether the curtain is lined, interfaced, or hung from a rod or rail.In addition to a good workmanship, "this is vital", the fabric has to be ductile and have a good hand, "it has to fall with charm".Beyond being something aesthetic, "we always have to try to choose what we like the most", we must not forget about use.We should always ask the professional for advice based on the frequency of the curtain operation (daily or almost never), if it is manual or motorized, if it is curtain or curtain or both, for example."It is really vital to invest in quality systems so that their operability is maximum and that their durability is as long as possible.""Not all fabrics are suitable for any use," says Rabadán's creative director.Just as stiffness or elasticity can make a fabric not suitable for upholstery, a fabric may not serve for its composition or structure for a curtain."We sell a lot of linen for curtains, although our favorite fiber is wool (which does not give heat, rather prevents heat from penetrating).
