66 companies bag export trophy for FY18

A total of 66 companies have received the National Export Trophy for fiscal year 2017-18 for their outstanding contribution to the export sector.

President M Abdul Hamid virtually joined the award-giving ceremony hosted at a city hotel on Thursday.

The programme was jointly organised by the commerce ministry and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) with commerce minister Tipu Munshi in the chair.

Zaber and Zubair Fabrics Ltd, for the first time, bagged the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Exports Trophy.

Senior commerce secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Md Jasim Uddin spoke at the event.

EPB vice-chairman AHM Ahsan made an address of welcome.

Different participants, including parliament members, dignitaries, business leaders, and high civil and military officials were present at the function.

Following are the award recipients.

Zaber and Zubair Fabrics got 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy' for bringing highest receipts through shipment of home and specialised textiles.

Rifat Garments wins gold in woven category, AKM Knit Wear silver and Tarasima Apparels bronze.

Square Fashions win gold in ready-made (knitwear), Four H Fashions (silver) and GMS Composite Knitting bronze.

Badsha Textile bags gold in yarn category, Kamal Yarn silver and Nice Cotton bronze.

In textile fabrics category, Envoy Textiles bags gold, Noman Weaving Mills silver and Four H Dying and Printing bronze.

In home and specialised textiles category, Zaber and Zubair Fabrics wins gold and ACS Textiles (Bangladesh) silver.

Noman Terry Towel Mills bags gold in terry-towel category.

Frozen foods category: BD Seafood Limited (gold), MU Sea Food Ltd (silver) and Jalalabad Frozen Foods Ltd (bronze).

Raw jute category: International Jute Traders (gold).

Jute goods category: Akij Jute Mills Ltd (gold) and Golden Fiber Trade Centre Ltd (silver).

Crust or finished leather category: Apex Tannery Ltd (gold).

Leather goods sector category: Picard Bangladesh Ltd (gold), ABC Footwear Industries Ltd (silver) and BBJ Leather Goods Ltd (bronze).

Footwear category: Bay Footwear Ltd (gold), FB Footwear Ltd (silver) and Alliance Leather Goods and Footwear Ltd (bronze).

Agricultural products category (excluding tobacco): M/S Monsur General Trading Company Ltd (gold), Heritage Enterprise (silver) and Abdullah Trading (bronze).

Agro-processing sector (except tobacco) category: Pran-RFL Group-Pran Dairy Ltd (gold), Pran Agro Ltd (silver) and Habiganj Agro Ltd (bronze).

Handicraft category: Karupanya Rangpur Ltd (gold), Classical Handmade Products BD (silver) and Bd Creation (bronze).

Plastic products category: Bengal Plastics Ltd Unit-3 (gold), Allplast Bangladesh Ltd (silver) and Tanveer Polymer Industries Ltd (bronze).

Ceramic goods export category: Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd (gold) and Artisan Ceramics Ltd (silver).

Light engineering sector: Uniglory Cycle Components Ltd (gold) and Rangpur Metal Industries Ltd Unit-2(silver).

Electric and electronics products category: Energypac Engineering Ltd (gold) and BRB Cable Industries Ltd (silver).

Other industrial products category: BSRM Steels Ltd (gold), Marine Safety System Ltd (silver) and Asia Metal Marine Service (bronze).

Drug products category (exporters): Square Pharma (gold) and Beximco Pharma (silver).

Product category (100-per cent locally-owned EPZ-oriented RMG, C-category): Universal Jeans Ltd (gold) and Pacific Jeans Ltd (silver).

Other products and service (C-category): Fardin Accessories Ltd (gold) and RM Interlinings (silver).

Packaging and accessories products: Montrims Ltd (gold), M&U Packaging (silver), M/S Uniglory Packaging Industries (bronze).

Other primary commodities: Orchid Trading Corporation (gold), Eco Fresh International (silver) and Bang Chung Trade and Tourism (bronze).

Other service sector: Mir Telecom Ltd (gold).

Women entrepreneurs for products and services: Square Textiles Ltd (gold), Al-Salam Fabrics (Pvt) Ltd (silver) and Ibrahim Knit Garments (Pvt) Ltd (bronze).
